English: PUERTO CORTES, Honduras (Aug. 23, 2007) - Sailors of High Speed Vessel (HSV) 2 Swift load a hospital bed onto a truck. Through Project Handclasp, hospital beds, examining tables, medical supplies and food were donated to local area hospitals and clinics. Task Group 40.9 is deployed under the operational control of U.S. Naval Forces Southern Command (NAVSO) for the Global Fleet Station (GFS) pilot deployment to the Caribbean Basin and Central America. The mission is to conduct a broad range of theater security cooperation activities with regional maritime services. This deployment is designed to validate the GFS concept for the Navy and support NAVSO objectives for its area of responsibility by enhancing cooperative partnerships with regional maritime services and improving operational readiness for the participating partner nations.
