English: CHERRY POINT, N.C. (June 1, 2007) - Capt. Thomas B. Lee, Marine Fighter Attack Squadron (VMFA) 533, speaks with midshipmen participating in the Career Orientation Training for Midshipmen (CORTRAMID). More than 400 midshipmen from various Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps programs talk with Marine aviators and are given an overview of aircraft capability. CORTRAMID is conducted at shore training sites on the east and west coasts. The training is intended to familiarize midshipmen with the missions, tasks, and equipment of the various warfare areas: Surface, Submarine, Aviation, and Marine Corps. Over 400 midshipmen from various Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps programs talk with Marine aviators and are given an overview of aircraft capability. CORTRAMID is conducted at shore training sites on the East and West Coasts. The training is intended to familiarize midshipmen with the missions, tasks, and equipment of the various warfare areas: Surface, Submarine, Aviation, and Marine Corps. This experience also introduces midshipmen to the career development ladder within each warfare area and emphasizes the importance of military courtesy, smartness, and discipline. Midshipmen spend one week with each of the warfare areas. Marine week consists of a variety of training exercises to familiarize Midshipmen with the Marine Corps. Midshipmen learn the basics of patrolling, view demonstrations of amphibious landings, and take close looks at Marine Corps equipment and weapons systems. (U.S. Marine Corps photograph by Cpl.
