English: CHARLESTOWN, Mass. (May 24, 2007) - In the Navy Yard’s USS Constitution Repair Facility, Seaman Brian Harris ties up a 500-lb., 158-sq. ft. mizzen sail in preparation for transporting it to the wood-hulled, three-masted frigate. In late May, Sailors will bend the cotton canvas sails to the yards of “Old Ironsides,” readying the ship for several underway demonstrations in the summer. USS Constitution is – at 209 years old – the oldest commissioned warship afloat in the world, manned by 64 active duty U.S. Navy Sailors, and visited by nearly half a million tourists annually.
