English: TITIANA, Solomon Islands (April 16, 2007) – Lt. Cmdr. Eilene Herrera, Navy Medical Corps, hands out medication to a villager during a Medical Civil Assistance Project (MEDCAP) in the Solomon Islands. Herrera is an individual augmentee from Balboa Naval Hospital in San Diego, embarked aboard Military Sealift Command (MSC) roll-on/roll-off ship USNS Stockham (T-AK 3017). On April 2, an 8.1 magnitude earthquake and resulting tsunami struck the Solomon Islands, causing casualties and significant damage. Stockham is one of 16 Maritime Pre-Positioning Ships and is part of MSC’s Pre-Positioning Program and has a mixed crew of U.S. Navy personnel and Merchant Marine seamen.
