English: TITIANA, Solomon Islands (April 16, 2007) - Lt. Cmdr. Eilene Herrera and Lt. Cmdr. Karlwin Matthews provide medical assistance to local families impacted by the recent earthquake and tsunami in the region. Herrera and Matthews are individual augmentees from Balboa Naval Hospital, San Diego, embarked aboard Military Sealift Command (MSC) roll-on/roll-off ship USNS Stockham (T-AK 3017). Stockham is deployed to facilitate humanitarian assistance after an 8.1 magnitude earthquake and tsunami caused casualties and significant damage in the area. Stockham is one of 16 Navy ships of MSC’s Pre-Positioning Program and has a mixed crew of Navy personnel and Merchant Marine seamen.
