English: Pacific Ocean (Nov. 14, 2006) - Aviation Warfare System Operator 2nd Class Michael McKnight of Hemet, Calif., performs a pre-flight check on a double rescue hook aboard a HH-60H Seahawk helicopter from Helicopter Antisubmarine Squadron One Four (HS-14) during the U.S. and Japanese Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF) exercise ANNUALEX. The exercise is designed to improve both forces' capabilities in the defense of Japan. About 8,500 U.S. Sailors are taking part aboard 13 ships, submarines and various shore-based aircraft.
