English: Pacific Ocean (Nov. 12, 2006) - Aviation Structural Mechanic Airman Jyoteendra Singh assigned to Strike Fighter Squadron Two Seven (VFA-27) signals the pilot of an F/A-18E Super Hornet to start his engines on the flight deck of USS Kitty Hawk (CV 63). The Kitty Hawk Carrier Strike Group along with the Japanese Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF) is currently participating in exercise ANNUALEX. The exercise is designed to improve both forces' capabilities in the defense of Japan. Approximately 8,500 U.S. Sailors are taking part aboard 13 ships, submarines and various shore-based aircraft.
