English: Boston (June 13, 2006) - The USS Constitution color guard presents colors as the Navy Band Northeast Marching Band joins Keith Lockhart conducting the world renowned "Boston Pops" in their performance of "Stars and Stripes." The grand finale of "America, Program of Patriotic Songs" at Symphony Hall in Boston marks the end of Boston Navy Week. The evening's performance included a pre-concert by the Northeast Navy Show Band as thousands were on hand for an evening of patriotic music. Twenty-four such weeks are planned this year in cities throughout the U.S., arranged by the Navy Office of Community Outreach (NAVCO). NAVCO is a new unit tasked with enhancing the Navy's brand image in areas with limited exposure to the Navy. U.S. Navy photo by Chief Journalist James Devine (RELEASED) |
