Description
English: Pacific Ocean (May 29, 2006) - An aircraft director guides an F/A-18F Super Hornet from the Diamondbacks of Strike Fighter Squadron One Zero Two (VFA-102) onto the No. 2 catapult for launch aboard the conventional aircraft carrier USS Kitty Hawk (CV 63). The F/A-18F is an all-weather attack aircraft that can also be used as a fighter. Currently under way in the 7th Fleet area of responsibility, Kitty Hawk demonstrates power projection and sea control as the U.S. Navy's only permanently, forward-deployed aircraft carrier, operating from Yokosuka, Japan.
