William R. Button (T-AK 3012) during a maritime interception operation (MIO) training, part of Southeast Asia Cooperation Against Terrorism (SEACAT) 2006. Button contracted through the U.S> NavyUs Military Sealift Command (MSC), posed as a commercial vessel suspected of smuggling contraband. SEACAT is a weeklong at-sea exercise designed to highlight the value of information sharing and multi-national coordination within a scenario that gives participating navies practical maritime interception training opportunities.
