English: Pacific Ocean (May 20, 2006) - Damage Controlman 1st Class Rico Ibarra coordinates the light-off of the hangar bay's Aqueous Film-Forming Foam (AFFF) sprinkler system aboard the conventionally-powered aircraft carrier USS Kitty Hawk (CV 63). Kitty Hawk is required to routinely test and evaluate all of its shipboard firefighting systems. Currently conducting Sea Trials in the western Pacific Ocean, Kitty Hawk demonstrates power projection and sea control as the U.S. Navy's only permanently forward-deployed aircraft carrier, operating from Yokosuka, Japan.
