Description
English: Pensacola, Fla. (Sept. 7, 2005) – U.S. Coastguardsmen Seaman Doian Allen and Machinery Technician 3rd Class Carlos Riascos, both assigned to the Coast Guard cutter USCGC Seahawk (WPB 87323), direct a U.S. Navy Landing Craft, Air Cushion (LCAC) onto Barrancas Beach on board Naval Air Station Pensacola, Fla. The LCAC is assigned to Assault Craft Unit Four (ACU-4), currently embarked aboard the amphibious assault ship USS Bataan (LHD 5) as part of the Hurricane Katrina relief effort. The Navy’s involvement in the Hurricane Katrina humanitarian assistance operations is led by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), in conjunction with the Department of Defense.
