English: Pensacola, Fla. (Sept. 3, 2005) - Civilian personnel unload relief supplies from the U.S. Navy High Speed Vessel (HSV-2) Swift on board Naval Air Station (NAS) Pensacola, Fla. Swift transited from Ingleside, Texas to NAS Pensacola at least fifty percent quicker than a conventional ship. The vessel carried 85 pallets of water plus hygiene kits, food, helicopter maintenance equipment and personnel. More than 9,000 gallons of water was purchased for relief efforts by the U.S. Navy, the remaining water was donated by citizens of Ingleside, Texas. The Navy's involvement in the humanitarian assistance operations is led by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), in conjunction with the Department of Defense.
