English: Okinawa, Japan (Aug. 8, 2005) - A U.S. Navy HH-60H Seahawk helicopter, assigned to Helicopter Anti-Submarine Squadron Fourteen (HS-14), performs a simulated rescue of a member of the U.S. Air Force 18th Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron during a mass water casualty training scenario at White Beach Naval Station, Okinawa, Japan. The exercise was part of the third annual Joint Air and Sea Exercise (JASEX). JASEX focuses on integrated joint training proficiency in detecting, locating, tracking and engaging units at sea, in the air, and on land, in response to a range of mission areas. The 18th AES Airmen were part of an aircrew that "crashed" in the ocean. Air Force HH-60 helicopters from the 33rd Rescue Squadron here and Navy helicopters participated in the training. JASEX provides a unique opportunity for air and naval forces to work togetehr in a maritime environment, including training with U.S. carrier strike group and attached air wing.
