English: Pacific Ocean (June 8, 2005) - Operations Specialist Seaman Apprentice Joseph Feith updates a status board during a General Quarters (GQ) drill on the bridge aboard the conventionally-powered aircraft carrier USS Kitty Hawk (CV 63). The status board keeps the officer of the deck informed of all surface contacts’ range, bearing and speed within 30 nautical miles. Currently under way in the 7th Fleet area of responsibility (AOR), Kitty Hawk demonstrates power projection and sea control as the U.S. Navy's only permanently forward-deployed aircraft carrier, operating from Yokosuka, Japan.
