Capt. Thomas A. Parker, commanding officer of Kitty Hawk was relieved by Capt. Ed McNamee after successfully completing a 27-month tour. Currently under way in the 7th Fleet area of responsibility (AOR), Kitty Hawk demonstrates power projection and sea control as the U.S. Navy's only permanently forward-deployed aircraft carrier, operating from Yokosuka, Japan.
