English: Aberdeen, Md. (April 25, 2005) - Staff Sgt. Leslie Moore assigned to the 16th Ordnance Battalion tests new flexible arm and leg protective armor at the Army Research Laboratory's (ARL) mobility/portability course at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Aberdeen, Md. The Office of Naval Research (ONR) and researchers from the Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) developed the armor for use by Marines and soldiers to reduce the likelihood of severe injuries by protecting against the large number of smaller blast fragments generated by blast weapons and improvise explosive devices (IEDs).
