English: Nias, Indonesia (April 22, 2005) – Hospital Corpsman Melissa Boutwell holds a young Indonesian child suffering from a congenital heart abnormality as non-governmental organization "Project HOPE" volunteers prepare for their departure from hospital ship USNS Mercy (T-AH 19) on their journey back to the United States. The child is one of two young Indonesian patients who will be accompanied to the U.S. to receive needed medical attention. At the request of the government of Indonesia, Mercy and the MSC combat stores ships USNS Niagara Falls (T-AFS 3) and USNS San Jose (T-AFS 7) are on station off the coast of Nias, providing assistance as determined appropriate and necessary with earthquake disaster relief efforts and provide medical assistance to those in need.
