English: Augusta Bay, Sicily (Mar. 25, 2005) - Chief Boatswain's Mate Mark Myers directs the lowering of the rear ramp of the High Speed Vessel Two (HSV 2) Swift. Swift is a wave-piercing aluminum-hulled catamaran that can move at speeds greater than 45 knots. With a draft allowing it to navigate in only 12 feet of water it can easily maneuver in and out of littoral environments. Photographer's Mate 2nd Class Brain P. Smarr (RELEASED) |

Image title | BMC Mark Myers , of Knoxville Tennesee, assists the aft crew during the lowering of the rear ramp of The High Speed Vessel (HSV-2) SWIFT's as a solution to the ships gangway problem. Smaller than conventional ships which port in Augusta Bay, the Swift is part of the Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) Program, which means smaller crews, and more standown time for sailors.
