English: Persian Gulf (Nov. 29, 2004) - Aviation Ordnanceman Airman James Brady, left, and Aviation Ordnanceman 2nd Class Douglas Vanstrien, both assigned to the “Gunslingers” of Strike Fighter Squadron One Zero Five (VFA-105), perform routine maintenance on an M61A1 20mm Vulcan cannon after removing it from the nose of one of their squadron's F/A-18C Hornets aboard the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman (CVN 75). The M61A1, utilized by the F-14 Tomcat and F/A-18 Hornet aircraft, is a hydraulically driven, six barreled, rotary action, air cooled, electrically fired weapon, with selectable rates of fire, either 4000 or 6000 rounds per minute. Truman's Carrier Strike Group Ten (CSG-10) and her embarked Carrier Air Wing Three (CVW-3) are currently on a scheduled deployment in support of the Global War on Terrorism.
