Description
English: Atlantic Ocean (Oct. 18, 2004) - Airman Brandon Davis, left, and Airman Zack St. Germaine, connect the cross-deck pendent to the purchase cable, while sailors rig the emergency landing barricade during a drill on the flight deck aboard the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman (CVN-75). In emergency situations, the barricade is stretched across the carrier deck to stop the aircraft and to ensure the safety of the pilot and the aircraft carrier crew. The Truman Carrier Strike Group (CSG) is on regularly scheduled deployment in support of the Global War on Terrorism and is currently conducting carrier qualifications off the East coast of the United States.
