English: Pacific Ocean (Oct. 18, 2004) - Lt. Nicole Taus of Vacaville, Calif., observes the landing of an MH-60R Strikehawk assigned to the "Scorpions" of Helicopter Anti-Submarine Squadron Light Four Nine (HSL-49) aboard the guided missile frigate USS Ford (FFG 54). The MH-60R Strikehawk is the Navy's newest version of the H-60 helicopter series and will replace the SH-60B and SH-60F models. The aircraft is enhanced with a new Lockheed Martin glass cockpit, as well as mission improvements that include the sonar, radar, electronic support measures and an integrated self-defense suite. Ford is on a regularly scheduled deployment to the Western Pacific. U.S. Navy photo by Photographer's Mate 2nd Class Oscar Espinoza (RELEASED) |
