Image title | 041011-N-4565G-009 Dubai U.A.E. (11 October 2004) Professional golfer Greg Norman visited USS John F. Kennedy (CV 67) Monday, October 11, 2004 during the ship's brief port visit to Dubai. The ship moored there Sunday, Oct. 10, 2004, after a month of combat sorties in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Just prior to this stop, the carrier made it's last port visit to the United Arab Emirates in September. Sailors on board, helped introduce the Australian golfer to the ship and the JFK crew. After a short tour, he hit several golf balls off the fantail of the only carrier currently forward deployed. USS John F. Kennedy and Carrier Air Wing 17 (CVW 17) deployed June 7 and are operating in the Middle East region as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Units in the strike group are working closely with Multi-National Corps-Iraq and Iraqi forces to bring stability to the sovereign government of Iraq.US Navy Photo by Photographer's Mate Airman (AW) Tommy Gilligan.
