English: Atlantic Ocean (July 14, 2004) - USS Enterprise (CVN 65) Catapult Officer Lt. Pamela Nickrand, from Jacksonville, Fla., ducks down as an E-2C Hawkeye, assigned to the "Screwtops" of Carrier Airborne Early Warning Squadron One Two Three (VAW-123) launches from a steam catapult on the flight deck of the nuclear-powered aircraft carrier. Enterprise is participating in Majestic Eagle, a multinational exercise being conducted off the coast of Morocco. The exercise demonstrates the combined force capabilities and quick response times of the participating naval, air, undersea and surface warfare groups. Countries involved in the U.S.-led exercise include the United Kingdom, Morocco, France, Italy, Portugal, Spain, and Turkey. Enterprise's participation in Majestic Eagle is part of her scheduled deployment supporting the Navy's new fleet response plan (FRP) Summer Pulse 2004, the simultaneous deployment of seven carrier strike groups (CSGs), demonstrating the ability of the Navy to provide credible combat across the globe, in five theaters with other U.S., allied, and coalition military forces. Atlantic Ocean (July 14, 2004)-- Catapult Officer Lieutenant Pamela Nickrand, of Jacksonville, Fla., ducks down as an E-2C Hawkeye, attached to the "Screwtops" of Carrier Airborne Early Warning Squadron One Two Three (VAW-123) launches from a steam catapult on the flight deck of the nuclear-powered aircraft carrier USS Enterprise (CVN 65). Enterprise is currently underway in the Atlantic Ocean participating in Medshark/Majestic Eagle 04. Medshark/Majestic Eagle 04 is a multinational exercise off the coast of Morocco with approximately 20,000 personnel operating aboard more than 20 ships, submarines, and numerous aircraft to show the combined force capabilities and quick response times of the many naval, air, undersea, and surface warfare groups. The U.S. led exercise aims to enhance interoperability between the ten nations participating: the United States, Morocco, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Turkey, and the United Kingdom.
