English: Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base, Fort Worth, Texas (May 8, 2004) - Sailors assigned to Naval Mobile Construction Battalion Two Two (NMCB-22) finish loading a truck onto a C-130 Hercules as part of a training exercise in conjunction with the U.S. Air Force at the Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base in Fort Worth, Texas.
NMCB-22 works with the Tanker Airlift Control Element (TALCE) when deployed, in order to load and ship equipment and gear into the operational theater. The TALCE is deployed to support strategic and theater air mobility operations at enroute and in-theater airfield locations. TALCE's provide on-site management of air mobility operations to include communications, aerial port services, maintenance, security, transportation, weather forecasting, intelligence, and other required support operations. Image title | Members of Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 22 observe loading a truck onto a Hercules C130, part of a training exercise in conjunction with the U.S. Air Force at the Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base in Fort Worth, Texas. Should NMCB 22 be deployed they would have to work together with the tanker airlift control element or TALCE, a U.S.A.F. element under the U.S. Transportation Command in order to load and ship equipment and gear into the operational theater. The TALCE is deployed to support strategic and theater air mobility operations at enroute and in-theater airhead locations. TALCE's operate the airfield to include ramp operations, aircraft parking, and aircraft off-load operations. TALCE's provide on-site management of air mobility operations to include communications, aerial port services, maintenance, security, transportation, weather forcasting, intelligence, and other required support operations. |
