English: Naval Air Station (NAS) Sigonella, Sicily (Apr. 15, 2004) - Four Air Force A-10 Thunderbolt attack aircraft line up for takeoff aboard NAS Sigonella. NAS Sigonella provides logistics support for Commander, Sixth Fleet and NATO forces in the Mediterranean area. The A-10 Thunderbolt is the first Air Force aircraft specially designed for close air support of ground forces.
