Description
English: At sea aboard USS Fort McHenry (LSD 43) Mar. 26, 2004 - Amphibious Assault Vehicles (AAV) assigned to Battalion Landing Team (BLT) 2/3 and the Republic of Korea group together in front of Republic of Korea Tank Landing Ship Seongin Bong (LST 685) in preparation of a beach landing during Exercise Reception, Staging, Onward movement and Integration (RSOI) and Foal Eagle. RSOI and Foal Eagle are a combined exercise involving forces from the United States and the Republic of Korea to enhance training opportunities and teach, coach and mentor service members, while exercising senior leaders decision-making capabilities. The Essex Expeditionary Strike Group (ESG) with embarked 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) was participating in the exercise as part of the Navy's only permanently forward deployed amphibious force.
