English: Atlantic Ocean (Feb. 24, 2004) – Electrician's Mate 2nd Class Christopher Walters demonstrates using the Naval Firefighting Thermal Imager (NFTI) during a General Quarters drill aboard the nuclear powered aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman (CVN 75). NFTI is a device that allows the user to see through dense smoke and steam by sensing the difference in infrared radiation given off by objects with a temperature difference of at least four degrees Fahrenheit.
