English: Indian Ocean (Apr. 4, 2003) -- An E-2C Hawkeye assigned to the “Wallbangers” of Carrier Airborne Early Warning Squadron One Seventeen (VAW-117) lines-up behind a jet blast deflector (JBD) awaiting the launch of other air wing aircraft aboard USS Nimitz (CVN 68). Nimitz and Carrier Air Wing Eleven (CVW-11) are expected to join coalition forces supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom. Operation Iraqi Freedom is the multi-national coalition effort to liberate the Iraqi people, eliminate Iraq’s weapons of mass destruction, and end the regime of Saddam Hussein.
