English: The Arabian Gulf (Mar. 23, 2003) -- Aviation Structural Mechanic 1st Class Robert Montes and Aviation Structural Mechanic 2nd Class Richard Ford, both assigned to Carrier Air Wing Fourteen (CVW-14) install explosive bolts into the canopy of an F/A-18 Super Hornet aboard USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72). The explosive bolts are what will blow the bubble off and away from the plane in case the pilot needs to eject. The Lincoln and CVW-14 is deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, the multi-national coalition effort to liberate the Iraqi people, eliminate Iraq's weapons of mass destruction, and end the regime of Saddam Hussein.
