English: At sea aboard USS Kearsarge (LHD 3) Jan. 14, 2003 -- An AV-8B II “Harrier” assigned to the “Bulldogs” of Attack Squadron Two Two Three (VMA-223) lands on the flight deck of the amphibious assault ship. The AV-8B II is a second generation, vertical/short takeoff and landing (V/STOL) light-attack jet aircraft utilized by the Marine Corps.
