English: US Army University, Shrivenham, England, UK, 1945 Sergeant Doris Hogan (left) walks through the campus of the US Army University at Shrivenham, with her English friend Sally Solomons. Sally has worked for the US forces for over three years and is engaged to an American soldier. Sergeant Hogan is studying German at Shrivenham for eight weeks in preparation for her return to work in the US zone of occupation in Germany. According to the original caption, she goes on every available trip and aims to see as much of Britain as possible. |
