English: EASTMAN LAKE, Calif. (Sept. 26, 2009) - Alyson Strickland, park ranger at Hensley Lake, removes dove weed bushes from campground areas at Eastman Lake during National Public Lands Day Sept. 26. Strickland and other rangers ran several park restoration projects at Eastman Lake as part of the National Public Lands Day celebrations at the lake. Around 165 volunteers showed up at Eastman Lake to celebrate National Public Lands Day and assist with park restoration projects, including planting trees loosening pea gravel at children's playgrounds. Just a few miles apart, Eastman and Hensley alternate hosting National Public Lands Day volunteers each year. " |
