She received two 127mm/38 turrets and eight 40 mm Bofors aft (1x4, 2x2). The new, heavy after tripod mast, carries the SP radar and many new aerials. William T. Powell departed her conversion yard, Brown Shipbuilding Company, in Houston, Texas (USA), on 22 October 1945. |
