Description
English: View across the flight deck of the U.S. Navy escort carrier USS Tulagi (CVE-72), in August 1944. Aft of her sails part of the invasion force for the landings in Southern France ("Operation Dragoon"). Directly aft of Tulagi seems to be USS Kasaan Bay (CVE-69), and a British carrier turns to starboard. Grumman F6F-5 Hellcats of Observation Fighting Squadron 1 (VOF-1) are visible on Tulagi's flight deck.
