English: Marines attached to 3rd Marine Logistics Group load a Medium Tactical Vehicle Replacement by crane into the bottom of the dock landing ship USS Tortuga at White Beach Naval Base Nov. 18. The ship, which left Nov. 20, is being loaded with food, supplies, gear and vehicles needed to assist U.S. forces in Thailand. The U.S. is supporting the flood relief effort in Thailand. “We are bringing enough supplies and support to help Thailand,” said Gunnery Sgt. Clayton G. Pettus, who is the detachment gunnery sergeant for the detachment on USS Tortuga and the company first sergeant of General Support Motor Transportation Company, Combat Logistics Regiment 3, 3rd Marine Logistics Group, III Marine Expeditionary Force. “We will have the capabilities to transport personnel and the equipment to clean up a majority of the water.” |
