Description
English: The U.S. Navy stores ship USS Tarazed (AF-13) beginning conversion from SS Chiriqui at the Brewer Shipyard, Staten Island, New York (USA), on 6 June 1941, two days after her acquisition by the U.S. Navy. Part of her white superstructure may already have been painted dark gray. To the right is USS Betelgeuse (AK-28), later (AKA-11), being converted from SS Mormaclark.
