Description
English: The U.S. Navy Porter-class destroyer USS Selfridge (DD-357) off the Mare Island Naval Shipyard, California (USA), on 10 April 1944. She was in overhaul at Mare Island from 24 January to 21 April 1944. Note the alterations in armament and of her superstructure after a Japanese torpedo tore off her bow during the Battle of Vella Lavella on the night of 6 October 1943. The ship is painted in Camouflage Measure 32, Design 22D.
The wartime censor has removed the radar antennas.
