Description 071103-N-9909C-001 BOSTON - Members of the 101st Field Artillery Battalion of the Massachusetts Army National Guard provide the gun salute for the commissioning of USS Sampson (DDG 102). Sampson is the fourth ship named for Rear Adm. William T. Sampson, a naval hero during the Spanish-American War. The three previous ships, all destroyers named in honor of Sampson, were also commissioned in Boston.
