Description The U.S. Navy aircraft carrier USS Ranger (CVA-61) underway in the early 1970s. Ranger, with assigned Carrier Air Wing 2 (CVW-2), was deployed to Vietnam from 27 October 1970 to 17 June 1971 and from 16 November 1972 to 22 June 1973. A Charles F. Adams-class destroyer is visible astern.
