Description The U.S. Navy aircraft carrier USS Randolph (CVS-15) in 1963. The crew displays two Battle Efficiency "E" awards, one awarded to the best anti-submarine carrier, and one the sixth consecutive Efficiency Award presented to the Engineering Department.
On deck are aircraft of Carrier Anti-Submarine Air Group 58 (CVSG-58). On the bow are Sikorsky SH-3A Sea King helicopters of Helicopter Anti-Submarine Squadron HS-7 Big Dippers and three Douglas A-4C Skyhawk fighters of Attack Squadron VA-172 Det. 15 Blue Bolts. Aft are Grumman S-2D Tracker aircraft of Anti-Submarine Squadrons VS-26 Lucky Tigers and VS-36 Grey Wolves. Parked between the Trackers are three Grumman E-1B Tracer aircraft of Airborne Early Warning Squadron VAW-12 Det.15 Bats.
