Description
English: The U.S. Navy Sixth Fleet flagship, destroyer tender USS Puget Sound (AD-38), fires a salute during change of command ceremonies at Gaeta, Italy, on 5 June 1981. Vice Admiral William N. Small, who was promoted to the fourstar rank of admiral, was relieved by Vice Admiral William H. Rowden. Adm. Small became the Vice Chief of Naval Operations.
