Description U.S. Navy cruisers and destroyers of the task group around the aircraft carrier USS Midway (CVB-41) during a deployment to the Mediterranean Sea from 29 October 1947 to 11 March 1948. Three Cleveland-class light cruisers are visible, nearest to the camera is USS Portsmouth (CL-102), followed by USS Providence (CL-82). Two destroyers are also visible.
