[edit]Description |
English: The U.S. Navy troop transport USS Lafayette (AP-53) (ex SS Normandie) is tugged down New York Harbor (USA) after being salvaged, circa in September 1943. She had burned and capsized at her berth in February 1942. Although salvaged at great expense, restoration was deemed too costly and she was scrapped in October 1946. |
