Description The U.S. Navy aircraft carrier USS Kearsarge (CVS-33) underway with the crew spelling a greeting for the 1964 Summer Olympics, which were held at Tokyo, Japan, from 10 to 24 October 1964. Kearsarge, with assigned Carrier Anti-Submarine Air Group 53 (CVSG-53), was deployed to the Western Pacific and Vietnam from 19 June to 16 December 1964.
