Description The U.S. Navy destroyer USS James E. Kyes (DD-787) underway alongside the aircraft carrier USS Kearsarge (CVS-33). A Grumman S-2E Tracker from Anti-Submarine Squadron 29 (VS-29) "Tromboners" is visible in the foreground. VS-29 was assigned to Carrier Anti-Submarine Air Group 53 (CVSG-53) aboard the Kearsarge for a deeployment to the Western Pacific and Vietnam from 9 June to 20 December 1966.
