Description
English: The U.S. Navy troop transport USS General John Pope (AP-110) in San Francisco Bay, California (USA), in late 1945 or early 1946, at the end of a Magic Carpet voyage from the western Pacific. Thousands of homeward-bound troops are on deck. Note that her lifeboats and Welin boat davits, which had been removed in September 1943, have been reinstalled.
