Description The U.S. Navy destroyers USS Compton (DD-705) and USS Gainard (DD-706) moored in Tripoli Harbour, Libya, on 11 October 1948. In the background is the "Assaria al-Hamra" or "Red Saraya" (Red Castle). It became a museum in 1919 and later the Archaeological Museum of Tripoli, Libya's national museum.
