Description The U.S. Navy guided missile destroyer USS Charles F. Adams (DDG-2) is refueled from astern by a civilan tanker, in 1972. The special excerise was named "Charger Log I". The destroyer was assigned to the NATO Standing Naval Force Atlantic (STANAVFORLANT). All ships of the force were evolved in the excercise.
Note: Warships are normally refueled when sailing alongside, using a special equipment that is not carried by civilian ships.
