[edit]DescriptionUSS Balch (DD-363) underway in 1944.JPG | Aerial starboard side view of the U.S. Navy destroyer USS Balch (DD-363). Built as a larger and more heavily gunned leader she has now, in 1944, surrendered No. 3 twin 5 inch/38 turret and her after director in favour of two twin Mark 1 and a qudadruple Mark 2 40 mm Bofors mountings aft. Another twin Bofors is mounted forward of the bridge with a 20 mm Oerlikon AA gun below it. Two more Oerlikons are visible abreast the second funnel. SG and SC-4 radar aerials are at the masthead. | ||
